We are so honored to introduce Rebecca Reed, who is our recipient of the GCSS Music Scholarship/Juliana Horn (2021-2022) Rebecca’s short bio: “My name is Rebecca Reed and I am a sophomore student at the University of Mobile, majoring in Piano Performance. Being able to go into a music major was always a dream of mine, and having the oppertunity to be taught and mentored by the amazing teachers at UM, especially Dr. Onalbayeva, has been a huge blessing. By majoring in Piano Performance, I have learned to value myself as a proffessional, to grow as an artist, and to push myself to achieve greater things. I have the Gulf Coast Steinway Society to thank for giving me the ability to major in Piano Performance. The GCSS has made sure that I am able to attend UM by supplying whatever I need, and the head of the GCSS, who happens to be Dr. Onalbayeva, has given me the tools that I need in order to succeed. Majoring in Piano Performance has broadened my horizons and the GCSS has made it possible THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!”
